The modern Swiss Air Force strikes a balance within its defensive-minded stance, allocating resources between active defense (32%) and training (32%). Beyond this is a modest collection of rotorcraft (26%) backed by a single special-mission platform to cover very specific over-battlefield roles. However, the service is due for an upgrade of its fighter fleet for a more modern solution and broadened capabilities required in the upcoming decade.

NOTE: Images found below are indicative of series type (for representation purposes) and do not reflect current service colors. On-Order systems are not included in the overall Aircraft Total.

A readiness rate of 50% would equate to 84 of the 167 available aircraft.
A readiness rate of 70% would equate to 117 of the 167 available aircraft.
A readiness rate of 75% would equate to 125 of the 167 available aircraft.
A readiness rate of 80% would equate to 134 of the 167 available aircraft.
