As expected of an ex-Soviet-era ally, the Syrian Air Force is made up largely of fighter and attack types with nearly half (48.1%) of the force being made up as such. Just over 36% is dedicated to rotorcraft and nearly 15% to trainers. Beyond this, the service fields two transport types and no special-mission platforms. The nation's current success in its long-running Civil War is bolstered only by the presence of the Russians which bring considerable firepower to bear on rebel elements from above.

NOTES: Images found below are indicative of series type (for representation purposes) and do not reflect current service colors. On-Order systems are not included in the overall Aircraft Total.

A readiness rate of 50% would equate to 229 of the 457 available aircraft.
A readiness rate of 70% would equate to 320 of the 457 available aircraft.
A readiness rate of 75% would equate to 343 of the 457 available aircraft.
A readiness rate of 80% would equate to 366 of the 457 available aircraft.
